St Michael parishioners
It is time for Life Network's Walk for Life again, and this year Father Goodyear will be the team captain for a combined St Michael/St Benedict team.
A little friendly competition between the parishes will be fun and all funds raised support Life Network's life-affirming programs. Last year, when Planned Parenthood received government stimulus money, Life Network remained open due to the generosity of pro-life people in the Pikes Peak community! During 2020 Life Network saw 225 babies saved, provided 716 ultrasounds--85% of clients choose life after viewing an ultrasound--reached 6,419 teens in 36 schools' Sexual Risk Avoidance and Suicide Prevention classes, provided 1,897 parenting coching appointments with moms and 827 with dads and 21 women women and men received healing throigh post-abortion recovery programs.
The Walk will be a hybrid event this year, so you may choose to participate at Memorial Park OR on the Rock Island Trail. If you want to do the two-mile with Father Goodyear and parishioners from St Michael and St Benedict, meet at the Falcon Safeway trailhead at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 5. Participation at Memorial Park will be limited, so advance registration is necessary. The 5K run starts at 8 a,m.; the Walk will take place in half-hour waves. If you want to join others on the Catholics4LifeNetwork team, sign up for the 10:00 wave. There will also be a fun run and activities for the young ones.
